Looking to improve skin imperfections?

Sun, skin disorders, aging and even heredity can all contribute to skin irregularities on the face and elsewhere on the body. We offer 3 different types of Facial Skin Resurfacing treatments at Highland Salon and Medi Spa.

Facial Skin Resurfacing

Facial Skin Resurfacing is a transformative skincare procedure designed to rejuvenate and enhance the skin’s appearance. Harnessing the power of three advanced technologies—Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, and TriBella—it targets various skin concerns, from fine lines and sun damage to uneven texture. By gently exfoliating and promoting the skin’s natural healing process, this multifaceted treatment reveals a brighter, more youthful complexion. Experience the synergy of cutting-edge techniques combined to redefine skin health and beauty.

The Positive Results

Comprehensive Treatment

By combining three technologies, it addresses a broad spectrum of skin concerns in one session.

Enhanced Skin Texture

Smoothens the skin by reducing the appearance of fine lines, scars, and uneven texture.

Brighter Complexion

Helps eliminate sun spots, age spots, and other pigmentation issues, revealing radiant skin.

Stimulates Collagen Production

Encourages the skin's natural production of collagen, leading to firmer and more youthful skin.

Minimally Invasive

Offers significant results with minimal discomfort and downtime compared to more invasive procedures.

Tailored to Individual Needs

Treatments can be customized based on individual skin needs and concerns.

Our Technologies

Our microdermabrasion machine uses diamond flakes as an exfoliating material and a machine based suction to gently lift up the skin during exfoliation. It is a non-invasive procedure and is performed in-office by a trained skincare professional.

Many salon machines use adjustable suction to improve the efficacy of the abrasion tool. The feeling of this is often compared to the feeling of a cat licking the skin- a rough but gentle texture.

The length of our microdermabrasion sessions are dependent upon what we are trying to achieve for your skin health, but typically last between 20-30 minutes. There is no ‘downtime’ required after microdermabrasion and you may immediately return to your regular daily activities after a session. Makeup and non-irritating creams can usually be applied within a few hours or right after microdermabrasion. Since there is an often immediate increased minor skin sensitivity after microdermabrasion, irritating products like glycolic acids, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Retinoid products or fragranced creams and lotions are typically avoided right after the procedure. When using microdermabrasion in conjunction with IPL skin rejuvenation, the results are amazing.

Beautiful, tight, new skin with an amazing texture and appearance.

Chemical Peels

During a chemical peel, we will apply the exfoliant acid first to the thicker areas of skin, such as the chin, nose, and cheeks, before applying it to the thinner areas around the eyes and mouth. Peels can be applied to the entire face or individual areas that require treatment, such as sun damage or to control acne. Other areas that can be treated are the neck and décolleté.

A special chemical solution is applied to the skin, for a specified amount of time to initiate the removal of the outermost layer of skin or deeper skin layers. The time the solution is left on the skin varies between 2-15 minutes, depending on the type of peel, peel treatment number, and the skins’ response to the solution. After the chemical peel, we may use cool saline compresses to remove any remaining exfoliant. All peels are customized to each individual, but all are managed using a step-up approach, which begins at the superficial layer with gradual increases to enable the skin to safely and effectively reach a Level 3 peel, if required. In general 4-8 peels are needed for optimum results, scheduled every 10-14 days or as required.* Please note: chemical peels are not effective for removal of medium or deep acne scars and will not clear skin from acne, if used as a stand-alone procedure.

Chemical peels often cause redness and peeling, which may take 1–2 weeks to heal. It is important to keep the face dry and not to shower or use face wash for the first 24 hours. Chemical peels are usually very gentle and create a temporary sensation of tingling (activity) or warm flushing to the skin during application.

Typically you may return to work right after the peel. The amount of peeling, if any, varies from person to person. You may see light to medium flaking by two or three days after the treatment. Depending on the type of peel, flaking up may last up to five or six days, while some clients may experience very little peeling. Your next beauty appointment for beautiful skin is just a click away.
